Clash of Clans Guide: FIX any Rushed Base

In a clash of clans, a rushed base is defined when you upgrade your Town Hall to the next level without maxing out your defensive units, walls, troops, spells, heroes, traps and pumps/mines/collectors.

HIGHLIGHTS
  1. If you rushed your Town Hall the game is not over or ruined for you! It can be fixed!
  2. Having a blanket policy of rejecting all rushed bases, despite the severity (or lack thereof) could be a mistake. I'm a fan, rather, of talking to the recruit and helping to point them in the right direction. This may be how you can find that next diamond in the rough as rushed base players are often overlooked and can often times amount to great players.
Now let's get into how to handle a rushed base, focusing on general upgrade and farming strategies and then covering a few amendments for TH 9/10 afterwards.

Rushed Town Halls (General Advice TH 4 - TH 8)

Overview - Rushing at Town Hall levels 4 through 8 is not a big deal. Because farming a max TH 8 base only takes a little over 300 million gold that means the job of catching up can't mean much more than a few months of farming, no matter how rushed the village.
Upgrade Priorities - At any Town Hall level, your first upgrade priority should be elixir bumps and gold mines. These are the proverbial gift that keeps on giving. As they will always be working for you gaining more resources.
After Gold/Elixir/DE pumps I split upgrades into two categories - gold and elixir. Here is my proposed upgrade order for each resource type. If you rushed your Town Hall start with the top of this list and start upgrading one unit at a time until they are all maxed an then move down the list.

Gold Upgrade Priorities
  1. Clan Castle
  2. Wizard Towers
  3. Mortars
  4. Giant Bombs / Air Mines
  5. Air Defences
  6. Hidden Teslas
  7. Skeleton Traps
  8. Air Sweeper
  9. Cannons

Elixir Upgrade Priorities
  1. Spell Factory
  2. Army Camps
  3. Laboratory (assuming you're not caught up on previous troops)
  4. Barracks
  5. Dark Barracks
  6. Collectors (unless needed for upgrades)

My best advice for upgrading troops is to create two categories.
  1. The troops you use to farm
  2. The Troops/spells you use to war (one strategy, IE GoWiPe, Hogging, DragLoon, etc)
You should be concentrating on upgrading each troop to the max, one at a time, for the strategy you use for farming and wars. If you're mainly a farmer you can start with farming troops. If you love war and want to be considered for solid war clans you may want to start with the war troops.
Even though it's not the most flexible plan - it is certainly the most effective. If you want to use dragons in war, upgrade your dragons to max followed by your rage to a max - don't touch your other troops until finished. That way you have a viable strategy to bring to the table when your clan goes to war.

What about walls??Upgrading walls should be done intermittently between other upgrades. Always keep one builder free if you are able to farm in boost sessions that way you can spend some time putting all your loot from these sessions into walls.

I should also note that unlocking Archer Queen and Barbarian King should be done as soon as you hit TH 8/9 as they're huge offensive/defensive factors.

Otherwise, players should remain steadfast with the upgrade order posted in the previous section. Especially referring to the upgrading of war troops (and spells) and farm troops to max to serve one strategy at a time.

The most obvious step you have to perform now stops upgrading your Town Hall any further.
The next steps are to upgrade your defences and troops with the highest priority. Start upgrading the lowest defences first and upgrade the troops you’re using most first. Here’s a little help for you when it comes to upgrading planning and priorities.
